LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "Charlie's Angels" director McG will direct and executive produce the new NBC drama pilot from the creator of Fox's "The O.C."
"Chuck" is described as an action comedy-drama about spies and twentysomethings in the vein of "Grosse Pointe Blank."
It comes from Josh Schwartz, who created "The O.C." and executive produces the soon-to-end soap with McG, a.k.a. Joseph McGinty Nichol. Schwartz wrote the "Chuck" script with Chris Fedak.
In one of the final rounds of drama-pilot pickups this development season, CBS picked up "Los Duques," while the CW gave the green light to "Reaper" and "Gravity."
"Duques" is a soapy drama about a multigenerational Latin American family in the rum business.
"Reaper" is a comedic drama about a 21-year-old slacker who becomes the devil's bounty hunter, retrieving souls escaped from hell.
"Gravity" will chronicle in a cinema verite style the daily lives of a sexy ensemble of rookie cops and their training officers in Los Angeles.
