Fox gets 'Starting'; NBC nabs 'M.O.N.Y.'

Pilot pickup -- "American Family," a comedy about a family that maintains a facade of stability and calm in front of neighbors but is actually as chaotic as any U.S. household circa 2007. Sony Pictures TV is behind the single-camera show from exec producers Jay Scherick and Dave Ronn.
Pilot pickup -- Untitled Rina Mimoun pilot, a comedic one-hour about a top female attorney who moves from the big city to Savannah, Ga., to join her father's family law practice. Mimoun will write and exec produce the show from Warner Bros. TV.

Pilot pickup -- "The Rules for Starting Over," a single-camera laffer about a 35-year-old who jumps back into the dating scene, along with his friends, after their marriages fail. Chris Pappas and Mike Bernier wrote the pilot, which Bobby Farrelly will direct; 20th Century Fox TV is producing, along with Conundrum Entertainment and Watson Pond Prods. Brad Johnson, Peter Farrelly, Bobby Farrelly and Bradley Thomas are exec producers.

Pilot pickup -- "M.O.N.Y.," a drama about the mayor of New York from scribes Tom Fontana and Barry Levinson. NBC Universal TV Studio is producing.
Pilot pickup - "Area 52," a comedy about government officials keeping watch on a space alien in Arizona. Mike Armstrong is writing and exec producing, while David Latt and Dean Parisot (who will direct) exec produce as well. NBC Universal TV Studio produces.
