LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Anthony Anderson is set as one of the two leads in Fox's drama pilot "K-Ville," which revolves around cops in post-Katrina New Orleans.
Anderson will play an experienced officer, an idealist who deeply believes that if they all pull together, they can bring the city back.
Anderson has been on a roll with an acclaimed turn on FX's "The Shield" and roles in such movies as "Hustle & Flow," "The Departed" and the upcoming "Transformers," which opens July 4.
In other pilot casting news:
= Canadian actress Katheryn Winnick ("Failure to Launch") will star in Fox's one-hour pilot "Nurses," a comedic drama about the lives and loves of a team of nurses. Winnick will play what is considered the ensemble's central character, a young nurse with a wild past who comes to work at the hospital where her father is the chief.
= Broadway actor Christopher Sieber ("Monty Python's Spamalot") has landed a lead role on NBC's comedy pilot "Wildlife," a workplace comedy set in a wildlife animal park. Sieber will play the head zookeeper, a remarkably eccentric and egomaniacal character.
